Tune: “The Traveler”
Original song, written to the tune of “The Traveler” around 1963.
Sailing in my boat out of Subic Bay I'm traveling in style My boats the one for having fun And I'll beat you by a mile Hard a'lee off of Cubi Shoals And head for Grandé now if squall winds blow I'll have you know Right through them we will go Haul'em tight Sail all night Out off Subic Bay With lots of girls in the tropic world With whom to play all day
Found in an old notebook on an undated, faded sheet of paper. It was written with a mechanical pencil and capitalization and punctuation is as shown. There is no reference to the name of the artist or the album that the song “The Traveler” came from, but I believe it was Walter Forbes’ 1963 “Folk Song Festival” album.
