Sociopathic Investors Need Their Pints of Blood

SOB: Son of a Bos'n Posted on September 20, 2020 by BobNovember 14, 2020

Manufactured Home Community residents will be next. just as soon as the state eviction hold disappears. Rent increases have already stated, with one community being hit with an 8.5% rent increase!

The increase had nothing to do with property management, but everything to do with the amount of blood money the sociopathic investors will be able to brag about at the end of the year. My bet is that everytime they refinanced the property, to allow them to pocket millions of dollars, they cover the increase in the mortgage payment by raising the rents.

Storz was documented as refinancing our park for $15 million dollars, in spite of the fact that the company purchased it over 40 years ago. None of that money went back into the park. Meanwhile, the residents paid over $4.5 million dollars in rental fees every year. That $4.5 million dollars is taken from senior citizens on limited incomes.

Quotes from the article:

The tenant didn’t lose her job because of the virus’ economic fallout, but she’s in the age group most at risk for Covid-19, appearing to be older than 65. [Officer] Gant also couldn’t communicate with the woman, who speaks only Vietnamese. The landlord told Gant he had raised the rent and the tenant, living on a fixed social security income of $700 per month, refused to pay the $650 monthly rent.

The elderly woman sat on her dining room chair on the sidewalk outside in the triple-digit Houston heat, watching Francisco Munoz carry her belongings onto the street. Munoz was hired by the landlord to move the tenant’s belongings out of the apartment and openly wept as he worked.

“I have a family. I have a sister. I have my mom,” said Munoz, sobbing as the woman watched him move her furniture. “You never know. Today it’s her. Tomorrow it’s me.”

As Gant worked on his eight evictions, word came from the Harris County Constable’s office that judges had cleared a backlog of 200 evictions, just for Precinct 1. The county has eight precincts.

Give Thanks for People of Honor, Integrity, Courage, and Compassion

SOB: Son of a Bos'n Posted on November 28, 2019 by BobDecember 4, 2019

Today, I would like to give thanks to all the people of honor, integrity, courage, and compassion, who have stepped forward in these trying times. There are those like Fiona Hill, who speak truth to power, in spite of the potential consequences. There are those, like Scott Warren, reach out and help those in need, again, in spite of the potential consequences. Where are the Christian communities calling out for the end of the separation of children from the families? … Continue reading →

Poem: The Fit

SOB: Son of a Bos'n Posted on May 23, 2015 by BobMay 23, 2015

Life can be empty for the man that doesn’t fit within the rut in which he’s stuck without a chance to quit. Friends he cannot make among those with whom he’s stuck For his live upon a different plain of life with a different kind of luck. His personality clashes with those who try to guide him and he cannot to be with those who always chide him. The job he does from day to day is nothing but a … Continue reading →

Tune: Denver

SOB: Son of a Bos'n Posted on May 23, 2015 by BobMay 23, 2015

Original song, written to the tune of “Denver” around 1963. I went out on a bright Monday morning when the sun was still young in the sky. I went and talked to my recruiter, Boys and now I am wondering why. He said he was so glad to see me and asked me to please come in side Then he started to tell me sea stories, Boys While I went along for the ride. He told of of Frisco and … Continue reading →
